Parent Meeting Scheduled

posted Feb 12, 2012 8:48 AM by St. Michael School

Many of you are aware, through notices from the Academy, of the new policy for the St. Michael School eighth grade.

Several of our families have voiced concerns and questions in respect to the change. To address these questions, a parent meeting has been coordinated and will take place:

Wednesday, February 15th at 6:30 PM in the St. Michael Church basement

The meeting will clarify the future plan for eighth grade here at St. Michael School and within the Academy, and offer information in respect to frequently asked questions and concerns.

Please make it a point to attend, should your schedule allow.

With sincere regards,

Michael Coulson

Catholic school turns to iPad lessons

NETCONG -- The feisty eighth-graders file into the classroom and take their seats in preparation for Spanish class.

Instead of pulling out their textbooks with worn edges and dog-eared pages, the students power up their iPads and listen to their teacher for instruction.

St. Michael Elementary School, a private Catholic school in Netcong, is one of five in the nation to be piloting a program that integrates iPads into everyday use in the classroom.

EXTRA, EXTRA! READ ALL ABOUT IT!

St. Michael School now has a newspaper! The seventh grade works on the newspaper during computer class. We will publish it twice a month.

We are trying to find a name for our newspaper. If you have any ideas, please place them in the box lo- cated in Room 24 (Seventh Grade Classroom).

Thank you and have a great school day.
