Dear 4th Grade Parents,

Welcome to a fun an exciting year! I am enthusiastic about being the new 4th Grade teacher in the Saint Michael’s community. This year we will be focusing on multiplication facts as a foundation in mathematics. This core knowledge will be beneficial when the students begin working on fraction equivalents and division with multi-digit problems. Every Friday, the students will be taking a “Math Facts” quiz to assess their knowledge in basic multiplication. Assisting your child in a review of basic multiplication facts every week will benefit their understanding in later concepts.

Reading fluency and writing skills will be strengthened throughout the year. It is very important for students to continue to practice these skills at home. Each Monday I will be sending home a list of homework for that week. Your child will also have homework written in their assignment books which will be reviewed at the end of each day. Please contact me via email if you have any comments or concerns throughout the year.
